Techniche Global are supporting a manufacturing company to appoint a Production Support Engineer. The role is a blend of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance. The plant has a wide range of process equipment, plant machinery, and conveyor systems, along with a broad range of electrical systems, control systems, and building facilities. The business is open to considering any background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.

Days only, 8-5 Monday to Thursday and 7-4 on Friday. The ideal candidate: Will have Mechanical and Electrical experience in some capacity. Ideally has worked with pneumatics or has a good understanding. Is an enthusiastic, proactive individual who prides themselves on their standards of work and reliability. Is a strong, keen, and positive problem solver with an analytical approach to make effective decisions with support from the production engineer. Has a professional manner with good communication skills. Is flexible to adopt new challenges and input from peers and colleagues. Holds an 18th Edition Electrical Qualification – would be a benefit but not essential. Has experience with any form of welding and metal work, which would be advantageous. Responsibilities and Duties: Support the engineering/maintenance team and operation functions to provide maximum availability of plant machinery to produce high quantity and quality products. Carry out mechanical and electrical tasks as required and directed by the maintenance Lead. Perform day-to-day maintenance of volumetric filling machines, labellers, and associated packing equipment. Troubleshoot and fault find. Perform all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and preventative types of maintenance on various areas of the plant. Install new equipment supported by the production engineer. Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned. Support the production team when needed to manufacture products, including a variety of different tasks such as the use of forklifts and telehandlers at times. Essential skills: A good understanding of mechanical/electrical equipment. A hands-on approach. Flexibility in your approach to work. A Forklift or Telehandler driver license – or a willingness to gain one with training provided. A good teamworking attitude. Ability to work outdoors.
