Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education. The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the

Vacancy Details

In the Production Team Leader - Fabrication position you will be managing and leading a team of employees, communicating company goals, safety practices and deadlines to the team, whilst working closely with the Production Managers. You'll be playing a big part in motivating the team and assessing team performance. You'll also be involved in the recruitment of new team members, training of new members and existing members of the team and updating the managers with any training needs within the team. Part of your role will be to ensure that all members within your team work safely and efficiently and are deployed in the correct areas to maximise outputs and quality in a cost-effective manner in accordance with laid down targets. As a Team Leader you will be responsible for the safe operation of the part of the works under your control. You'll manage your area of responsibility ensuring all safety measures are being maintained and that safety instructions and safe working practices are being followed. You'll be delivering toolbox talks to employees and contractors as and when necessary, and ensure that all PPE is available, used and maintained by employees and keep a record of issues and maintenance where appropriate. Key Skills & Experience To be successful in this role you will have significant previous experience as a Welder/Fabricator. You will also have the ability to lead a team, take responsibility and be assertive. You will have well-established technical ability with knowledge and understanding of technical drawings, work planning and target setting for the team. You'll need to have previous knowledge of the day to day running in a steel fabrication environment and extensive knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety practices. You must have NVQ level 3 in Fabrication and Welding.
