HCI Systems, based in Newport, Shropshire, was established in 2012, and has an enviable reputation based on high quality wiring harness design and manufacture for various industries including Motorsport, F1, Marine, Defence and agriculture. The company also supplies low and high voltage electrical wiring harnessing, alongside providing complimentary technologies such as power management systems, switch panels and bespoke electronics systems working to customer specifications. Due to the continued success of the business, both in established and new marketplaces, HCI Systems are looking to recruit a Production Team Leader to join the team and further assist the company in its growth plans. The Production Team Leader will oversee and lead a team of 10 wire harness technicians, ensuring that they provide the team with the necessary support to meet the required performance levels. Main Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, provide guidance, and ensure the team delivers high-quality work within set timelines. Regularly track and assess Key Performance Indicators, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to achieve targets. Manage the reintegration of team members following absences, ensuring compliance with company policies, and addressing any concerns. Efficiently allocate tasks to team members through the MRP system, ensuring workload balance and timely completion. Coordinate with relevant departments to guarantee all components are ready and available for uninterrupted production. Identify skill gaps and plan tailored training programs to enhance team competency and career progression. Partner with engineering departments to implement continuous improvement initiatives, process updates, and address technical challenges. Provide structured feedback and set clear development goals to support team members’ career growth and maintain high performance standards. Facilitate team meetings to communicate updates, share performance insights, and address any concerns or suggestions from team members. Foster a positive and engaging work environment through recognition, incentives, and fostering a culture of collaboration. Ensure alignment with production schedules and resource planning to meet delivery deadlines. Continuously review workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements for optimized performance. Provide timely updates on team workload progress to maintain transparency and ensure schedule adherence. Skills and Qualifications

Demonstrable work experience of work in a Team Leader position in a similar environment. Level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineering or Team Leading and/or BTEC National equivalent preferred. Ability to work towards IPC-A-620 standards. A self-motivated and driven individual with a positive can-do attitude, capable of inspiring and motivating others while remaining focused and target oriented. Support, encourage, and develop the team while fostering cohesion and a positive team atmosphere. Able to anticipate obstacles, develop insightful solutions and remain resilient and optimistic in the face of change. Able to always adopt safe working practices in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and company policy. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills in engaging with internal and external customers through face-to-face, phone, and video interactions, while maintaining a professional and collaborative approach to teamwork.
