is a highly successful SME based in Crowborough, East Sussex, that designs, manufactures, and markets voice alarm and emergency voice communication equipment for varying sectors, including commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, transport, and public service facilities, distributing worldwide.

Independently owned, this family business has grown significantly over its 40 years of trading and now employs around 75 staff. Despite this growth, the business has maintained a simple structure and boasts a very low staff turnover.

The Company is looking for a Production Test Engineer to work in our busy production test department, testing and repairing our range of products and sub-assemblies.

The successful applicant will be joining an ambitious, growing business, with a clearly defined vision and a set of values that informs all business decision making.

The Role:

Permanent, full-time

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Friday AM only)

Salary - £29k to £31k depending on experience and qualifications

Profit related bonus

20 days annual leave + bank holidays, rising to 25 days with length of service

1 extra 'Celebration' Day and 1 Volunteering Day per annum

Responsibilities:

Test & repair printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA's)

Test & repair finished equipment

Design and build test jigs as required (with help from our design department)

Fault finding circuits down to component level

Program memory and controller chips

Write and/or update test specifications

Any other tasks as directed by the Production Test Team Leader or Production Manager

Person Specification:

Qualification in electrical/electronic engineering (minimum BTEC national diploma or similar)

Minimum of 1 year experience in electronic testing in a manufacturing environment.

Experience using MRP/ERP systems

Competent using Microsoft Office suite

Friendly and approachable

Good problem solving skills

Confident, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy

Pro-active, with a desire to identify and adopt best working practices

Attention to detail
