You will be responsible for the educational development of nursing staff within this area, in line with national and local initiatives. You will also be involved in the planning and delivery of specialist education and training. We are seeking a highly motivated Band 6 Nurse who will bring sound clinical knowledge and experience in Community Nursing. This is a challenging role in frontline NHS services. You must be a role model, extremely organised, supportive, and able to communicate effectively. You will be able to work clinically alongside other team members and, most importantly, you will be committed to patient safety and the well-being of your staff. No day is the same in our fast nursing teams, and we are really dedicated to providing first-class care to our patients. Full training will be provided for the right candidate, including Trust induction and supernumerary period. There will be ongoing opportunities to develop.

Main duties of the job

Demonstrate clinical knowledge and a consistently high standard of nursing practice in the field of Community Nursing. Act as a resource for theory and best practice in the support of staff, patients, and their families. Promote staff development through assessment, supervision, education, and clinical practice. Support the clinical development of nurses during and following assessor and supervisor training. Support assessors and supervisors in practice and with new nurse development. Support the community teams in the delivery of the Statutory, Mandatory, and Service Specific training as identified by the Trust. Work collaboratively with other service providers to deliver external training programmes. Contribute to the induction courses for new nurses. Promote the philosophy of Dudley Group of Hospitals. Support research in practice.

Qualifications & Education

Essential Registrant to be educated to degree level Teaching & assessing qualification

Desirable Has completed assessor programme Evidence of post graduate study in education

Experience

Essential Proven extensive working within the community nursing clinical setting, encompassing current specialist knowledge across a range of complex clinical skills/procedures. In-depth knowledge of all educational policies and procedures pertinent to community working. Experience of teaching in both formal and informal settings. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Able to produce complex written and verbal reports. Excellent IT skills. Evidence of educational programme development. Effective leadership skills. Has up-to-date knowledge of current issues and changes within NHS which affect Community Nursing. Skilled practitioner who can act as a role model. Able to facilitate the development of clinical learning opportunities for the community workforce.

Desirable Trained clinical supervisor/assessor. Completion of a leadership development programme. Experience of curriculum development in line with education policy and assessment systems.

Communication & Relationship Skills

Essential Ability to manage competing pressures and prioritise workload effectively. Able to work as a member of a team. Able to communicate effectively with candidates, health care staff, and external agencies. Shows interest in teaching others. Displays commitment to education in practice.
