Are you ready to play a pivotal role in transforming audiology services? Powys Teaching Health Board is excited to announce an opportunity for a Professional Head of Service. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audiologist to join us. You will have the chance to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality care for patients of Powys. Reporting operationally to the Head of Therapies and Healthcare Science Services and the professionally Executive Director of Allied Health Professional and Healthcare Science, the post holder will be responsible for the budget, professional practice and delivery of the whole range of the Audiology services and Ear Care Nurse Services. They will work with the team members in building strong cross-professional relationships and networks internally and externally. They will undertake clinical/professional duties carrying out highly complex testing on patients, the majority of which will be non-routine. The postholder should be a registered Clinical Scientist or Audiologist, registered with the HCPC or AHCS. Ideally, the applicant should be working at or towards registration as a consultant clinical scientist with the AHCS Higher Specialist Scientist Register. The postholder should have an MSc in audiology or equivalent level of experience. Main duties of the job

The Head of Audiology is a professional leader within the Therapies and Health Science services providing professional leadership and advice to the Audiology Service and the organisation. Operational management of the Audiology portfolio and other delegated services across Powys e.g. Ear Care. Providing advice on a wide range of service matters to patients, service users, carers and clinicians. Development, provision and evaluation of comprehensive clinical services within own portfolio. Lead on specific clinical audits, research and quality improvement projects. Holding a highly complex clinical caseload. About us

Qualification / Knowledge

Degree/Diploma in Audiology BAAT I and II or equivalent Master's level of education or equivalent experience Registered with HCPC or The Academy of Healthcare Science (AHCS) Knowledge of the NHS healthcare system and national standards Documented evidence of CPD Membership of special interest group / Professional Body Completion of MSC Experience

Varied post graduate clinical experience Experience of a specialist clinical area including adult and paediatric diagnosis assessment and rehabilitation Leadership experience and supervision of senior staff and teams Experience of operationally managing a team or service Experience of managing budgets and financial planning Experience of managing a range of HR issues Business and workforce planning experience Experience of managing and delivering change Experience of Service Development and successful budgeting management Proven track record of delivering against set objectives and achieving key targets and analysing complex information on a range of clinical and professional information Experience of cross boundary / agency working Research experience Experience of working in a complex organisation Participation in national and local professional forums Aptitudes and Abilities
