The Professional Support and Wellbeing (PSW) Team operates across the Midlands, dedicated to supporting resident doctors and dentists in training. Our primary focus is providing personalised, one-on-one support tailored to the specific needs of these professionals. The Coordinator role is part of the Training and Education sub-directorate of WT&E in the Midlands, responsible for effectively planning and delivering education and training. Our team is committed to helping residents advance their training and providing solution-focused interventions for those facing challenges. Main duties of the job

Facilitate and conduct meetings with resident doctors and dentists to assess the level and nature of training challenges, often in emotional and occasionally distressing situations. Identify and investigate the root causes of concerns and assess the urgency of required interventions. Analyse information in collaboration with the manager and clinical lead to create a personalised support plan. Contribute to the ongoing design and development of services to effectively enhance service delivery. Utilise developed empathetic skills to interpret complex information in challenging and emotional circumstances. Maintain high standards of own performance and behaviour, setting an example for others. Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and confidently build and maintain strong working relationships. Person specification

Qualifications

Educated to postgraduate level in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area. Specialist knowledge across a range of work procedures and practices. Recognised training or relevant experience in counselling, mentoring, or coaching. Knowledge and experience

Knowledge of the issues surrounding Diversity & Inclusion, Neurodiversity, Disability, and Social Deprivation. Significant experience of operating in a politically sensitive environment. Experience of developing team members’ skills in supporting trainees’ emotional wellbeing. Skills Capabilities & Attributes

Leadership, strategic thinking, and planning with a high level of political astuteness. Ability to manage people’s expectations and adapt communications. Ability to collate complex qualitative and quantitative information. Values and behaviours
