Salary Starting from £26,038, rising to £29,659 pro rata This is an exciting opportunity to become a Programmes Administrator within the Doctoral College. You will join our team supporting the Doctor of Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) course - a professional programme responsible for training Clinical Psychologists to work in the NHS. The programme is a three-year full-time professional doctorate. Students (trainees) spend half their time in the University and half their time on supervised placements in local NHS mental health settings. You will work alongside two other Programme Administrators and the Programme Manager, as well as with the wider team within the Doctoral College. This role will have sole responsibility for some areas and then share responsibilities for other aspects. Activities will include: Core admin responsibility for all aspects of the trainee recruitment process, including:

managing all stages of the process including liaising with the UK's central Clearing House (through which all applicants apply), receiving batches of applications and completing the initial appraisal of all applications, organising multiple shortlisting panels (comprising internal and external shortlisters), arranging interviews of 70+ potential applicants, and managing offers to successful (and potentially reserved) candidates working closely with the Admissions Director regarding all aspects of the recruitment process handling all communications with prospective and successful candidates, ensuring a seamless experience

Other programme-related activities including:

administering programme sub-committees maintaining accurate student records, and ensuring compliance with Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts. managing trainee expenses, ensuring compliance with NHS policies and deadlines. managing payments for People with Personal Experience (PPE) involved in the programme

About you

This is a busy and varied role. You will need to have: excellent organisational skills appropriately high levels of autonomy and initiative the ability to multi-task and work with others to plan and prioritize strong IT skills to facilitate managing university- and programme-specific records, admissions processing and other relevant systems. Good communication skills are also essential in order to engage with the wide range of individuals and groups connected to the programme - including academic staff, Doctoral College colleagues and other professional services staff within the university, as well with externally based short-listers, speakers, examiners, placement conveners and NHS colleagues. Although colleagues have a clearly-defined role we work closely together as a team to support each other, and so teamwork as well as the ability to work independently are equally important. This is a part-time role working 0.5 fte (18.25 hours per week) for an initial fixed-term period of 12 months, pending a business review. Applications are encouraged from any administrative background. We currently operate a hybrid model such that staff can mix working from home and in the office on campus.
