Programme Director, Access to Care

·
Full time
The Access to Care Priority Director is a key leadership role carrying individual and functional responsibility for leading and driving forward the implementation of the Access to Care Programme on behalf of the BDC HCP within the WY ICB. The Access to Care priority is one of five priority programmes within Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership (BDC HCP) where partners across the system transform outcomes and experience for our population based on population health insight. The priority programmes will change over time in order to focus transformation on the specific priority areas defined within our strategy. As such, the role focus may change in line with the changing strategy and operational plan for the BDC HCP.

The priority has responsibility for urgent care, planned care and long-term conditions including cancer, and the role has responsibility for the management of the business functions including transformation, delivery, business as usual and performance management and leadership of the team. The post holder will be the lead for identified work streams and will be responsible for devising and implementing the detailed work programme to deliver these workstreams with contributions from colleagues and from system partners. Working with heads of programmes and support teams, the post holder will be responsible for providing programme management expertise, designing the programme and work stream structure for each of the work streams in conjunction with work stream leads/project managers.

Demonstrating well-honed political, interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills, the post holder will be able to hold work stream leads and project managers to account in an appropriate manner and support the clinical leadership arrangements for the programme.

They will manage highly complex, confidential and sensitive information, work processes, financial information and strategic objectives, and will be able to recognise and overcome significant barriers to successful change processes. They will ensure communications about the priority are presented diplomatically, honestly and with sensitivity so that optimal working relationships are maintained and developed to the benefit of patients and the wider population. The post holder will support the leadership for the programme made up of executive leads from partner organisations, one of whom will be the SRO, and will work closely with other Programme/Priority Directors across BDC HCP. The WYICB is committed to supporting staff who are at risk of redundancy or are on pay protection. As such, we reserve the right to pause or withdraw this vacancy if an application is received from an individual in one of these categories, in line with our organisational policies.
