Digital Transformation Programme Director Location: Hybrid (London or Corby) RS Group is at the forefront of global innovation, delivering exceptional customer experiences and transformative business solutions. We are currently seeking an accomplished Digital Transformation Programme Director to join our team permanently. Reporting to the VP of Customer Transformation, the Programme Director will oversee the development, management, and delivery of a Global Multi-Year Digital programme which will transform RS Customer Experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, regions, markets, and third-party partners to implement capabilities, optimize processes, and unlock the full potential of the transformation. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving programme success, realizing benefits, and delivering value to RS Group and its customers. What you'll be doing: Programme Leadership : Provide leadership to empower, inspire and facilitate the work of cross-functional programme and projects teams through defining and setting objectives, ways of working and tactics to galvanize the team across the programme objectives. Drive team members to develop detailed project schedules, milestones, project plans, budget, scope, timeline, and risk mitigation plans to meet programme requirements while maintaining positive team morale. Programme Governance : Develop and implement the programme governance framework to underpin planning, design, and monitoring of the programme delivery, including programme risk and issue management. Prepare, gain approval of, refine and update business cases that justify the initiation and/or continuation of programmes in terms of benefits, costs and risk. Programme Management & Delivery : Day-to-day leadership of the Programme team to effectively coordinate the individual projects and initiatives, manage programme and project interdependencies, and resolve risks and issues. Facilitate trade-off decisions between quality, costs, scope, and time. Programme Budgets and Benefits Realisation : Establish and manage multi-million/multi-year budget management processes to monitor costs and benefits as the programme progresses. Manage, resolve, and escalate financial aspects of the programme to ensure successful delivery. Programme Reporting and Communications : Manage programme reporting and proactive communication strategy; provide clear visibility of the programme progress to the Exco. Driving Customer Centricity : Ensure programme and projects are informed with the customer at the center of defining and delivery; incorporate internal and external data sources to shape project and programme delivery focused on enhancing customer experience. Stakeholder Management : Identify, address, and proactively resolve differences between individuals and/or interest groups. Lead discussions with business leaders to clearly define complete programme requirements, vision, outcomes, metrics, support, and delivery requirements. Develop a strong understanding of relevant business functions, direction, organizational structure, and overall business goals. Team Management & Motivation : Manage programme expectations with team members, stakeholders, and senior management by monitoring progress against the plan, escalating problems and issues that impact cost, scope, or schedule. Facilitate programme meetings to drive progress and resolve issues; prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, action items, and status reports. Facilitation : Facilitate programme-related workshops to enable progression and delivery of the programme. External Partner Management : Lead and prepare programme tender processes in conjunction with Legal, Procurement, and Programme colleagues to identify and select partners. Manage external delivery partners and contractors aligned to specific programme delivery goals and objectives. About you: The Programme Director is tasked with ensuring all programme workstreams and projects are executed in alignment with the established programme governance framework. They will take ownership of specific workstreams within the programme, driving their successful delivery and ensuring alignment with overarching goals. Ideal candidates should have expertise in the following areas: Recognized Project or Programme Management qualification (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Prince2, MSP) or equivalent experience. B2B experience with a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and opportunities. Digital Transformation experience focused on driving customer experience through digital channels (i.e. Web). Proven success in delivering large-scale, multi-million-pound transformational programmes globally, with measurable benefits realization. Hands-on experience managing end-to-end digital transformations, including both internal process digitalization and front-end customer-focused initiatives. Strong expertise in digital technologies and a track record of driving innovative solutions.
