London Hybrid working model, 2 days a week office based, 3 days remote) Competitive Salary plus performance related bonus There are 2 opportunities within the Programme Function. We are looking for a Programme Director to lead the delivery of complex projects and programmes (£100 million plus). You will be self-directed, proactive, and have experience of leading multi-vendor technical delivery programmes. As part of this key role in the Service Delivery Team (SD) we expect you to: Lead multi-vendor teams with a focus on ‘one team’ culture, whilst ensuring individual deliverables and accountabilities are maintained. Work with key stakeholders (internally and externally) to identify and manage the impact of interdependencies with other projects and/or initiatives. Work with the PSO team to build and maintain an effective programme governance structure including key artifacts, meeting cadence, risk management arrangements, etc. Take accountability for financial forecasting and cost management, including internal and external costs, potentially in excess of £100m. Provide leadership and line management to DCC employees including objective setting, personal development, and performance management. Own the development and delivery of internal and external engagement plans with government, industry, and regulatory bodies. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Capita, Ofgem, DESNZ, DCC’s customers, and its supply chain partners. What will you be doing? Defining project/programme objectives, outcomes, and success criteria. Developing the delivery strategy for required outcomes and agreeing with the programme sponsor. Securing resources and expertise from within DCC. Providing coaching and leadership to team members, as required. Working with team members to identify and manage risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues. Developing and maintaining clear, comprehensive programme schedules against which progress can be easily monitored. Specifying deliverable quality and assuring delivery of the required quality. Building an effective team and leading/driving delivery to achieve the end outcomes. Spotting and managing any variances in advance. Supporting third-party supplier procurement and supplier management. Engagement with and coordination of the diverse internal and external stakeholders. Development and maintenance of core programme artefacts. What are we looking for? Skills and Experience - Essential An experienced Programme Director with a strong track record of managing and delivering multi-million pound (£100m plus) programmes with multiple stakeholders/customers (internal and external). Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders at a senior level. Procurement and management of 3rd party suppliers. Demonstrable experience in leading complex business transformation programmes, 3rd party technology delivery/integration programmes, or significant procurement programmes. Demonstrable experience of building high performing cross-functional programme delivery teams and managing others to consistently deliver high quality within programme timescales. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to gain credibility with Executive Level Stakeholders. Ability to use Microsoft Project and the wider MS Suite to practitioner level or above. Skills and Experience – Desirable Experience of working in highly regulated environments. Experience of working with Government Departments. Experience of the energy and or telecoms sector. A Business or Project Management qualification. Professional member of APM or the IPM.
