Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available Reporting to the Director of Onshore Capital Delivery, the primary responsibility of the role is to lead the delivery of a programme of onshore capital projects within the circa £20 billion Pathway to 2030 portfolio. This is a key leadership role within SSEN Transmission’s Onshore Capital Delivery team. Key accountabilities include: Leading and developing a large, geographically spread, multi-disciplined team in the safe, timely and efficient delivery of a programme of complex and concurrent projects. The design and development of delivery strategy and associated organisational structures and resources for the delivery of the programme of projects in a consistent manner with effective governance, financial, commercial, quality and risk management disciplines. Ensuring that opportunities, risk, and issues are proactively managed across the programme and that accountability exists for Project Directors to set and manage accurate annual risk budgets, with an effective monthly performance reporting and management regime. Acting as the focal point for engagement and escalation with all internal and external senior stakeholders who have both direct and indirect interests in the programme of works and future strategy, inclusive of the Scottish and UK Government, Ofgem, National Grid, Government Agencies and Contractors. Actively developing and building relationships with key stakeholders to positively influence and build consensus in support of Business objectives. To succeed in this role, you should have: Extensive experience in the management and leadership of large, complex, high value engineering and construction projects within a high-pressure project environment within the Utilities industry or similar. Advanced knowledge and understanding of project management systems, governance arrangements and project controls processes for development and execution of large capital projects. Experience in negotiation of, and project delivery using NEC3, LOGIC and FIDIC forms of contract. Excellent leadership skills with demonstrable experience of building a proud and inclusive team. Experience of effectively managing multiple project execution issues and analysing and prioritising key delivery risks and issues for the project on an ongoing basis. About our Business
