What we do: We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, ensuring clean and safe drinking water and proper wastewater management. The Water Quality team is a key part of how we plan to meet these changing expectations. THE ROLE: The Graduate Programme is a two-year programme offering five structured placements within your business area, with selective placements in other areas, including core functions such as Finance, Health & Safety, People, and Procurement. The

Graduate Water Quality Scientist

role is vital in helping ensure that water quality targets and standards relating to specific legislation are met. Where you’ll fit in: Optimise assets, systems, processes, and procedures for continuous improvement in water quality performance and protection of public health. Lead a coordinated response to incidents across the business. Prepare reports for submission to our regulator/Senior Managers. Ensure compliance with our Performance Commitments. Undertake the role of water quality consultant on a 1 in 5-week basis. Participate in the water quality standby rota on a minimum 1 week in 5 frequency. DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Our programme is designed to meet individual needs, offering a balanced development programme with support from Sponsoring Managers, Graduate Champions, and Mentors. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 2:1 Bachelors degree in a Science or similar (environmental) discipline. Full Clean UK Driving Licence. Enthusiasm and a drive to succeed.
