per annum Full-time (36 hours) (Part-time applications welcome) Permanent London, UK The MRC LMS, under the Directorship of Professor Wiebke Arlt, comprises around 35 research groups carrying out mechanistic research addressing major questions of relevance to human health and disease. We are focusing on mechanisms underpinning metabolism, genetic and epigenetic regulation, and cell fate decisions, and are particularly interested in the impact of sex differences, life course-associated changes, and the exposome on these processes. The LMS is committed to a transdisciplinary team science approach, and our research progress is accelerated by state-of-the-art core facilities. The LMS is recruiting several Programme Leader Track appointments in the areas of: Sex differences in biology and disease Cell identity across the life course (including early development and ageing) Gene-environment interactions (pertaining to the impact of endogenous and exogenous environmental determinants including over-nutrition) Programme Leader Track appointments are an open-ended contract, which comprises a six-year advanced career development scheme after which you will be considered for promotion to Programme Leader. During your Programme Leader Track appointment, you will be required to develop your programme of research, including establishing internal and external collaborations, securing external grant income, and supervising students. You will also be required to contribute to the Institute’s strategy and research, which will entail delivering training and innovation missions, participating in outreach activities, as well as supporting Equality, Diversity and Inclusive research culture initiatives.
