We are seeking a

Project Accountant (Maternity Cover)

for a 12-14 month contract in

Aberdeen . Key duties include financial performance reporting, contract variations, budget management, and compliance monitoring. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience, strong commercial awareness, and progress towards an accounting qualification, with SAP knowledge preferred. Main duties and responsibilities: Providing visibility on contract financial performance, including the preparation of monthly management accounts. Assisting with identifying and managing contract variations. Submitting annual rate increases. Supporting the re-negotiation of contract terms. Conducting audits to identify and implement potential commercial improvements. Aid in claim preparation and ensure appropriate financial controls are in place. Ensuring compliance with relevant company policies, processes, and procedures. Studying and monitoring compliance with contract terms and conditions. Supporting Operations Teams with contract execution and financial performance monitoring against agreed budgets. Gathering and validating contract budgeting/forecasting data for accuracy. Assisting in developing processes/systems for client-specific cost breakdowns. Aiding in preparing monthly cost/value reports and provide analysis. Liaising with various teams, including invoicing, accounts, procurement, and tendering. Collaborating with procurement on project-specific agreements outside of standard contracts. Collecting and reviewing start-up information for projects or phases. Reviewing and controlling minor estimates or contract change requests. Assisting with preparing valuations for fixed-price contracts. Monitoring and analysing KPI performance, recommending improvements to optimise financial returns. Providing detailed post-project analysis to highlight lessons learned. Reviewing all invoices for accuracy before submission to clients. Attending client forecasting, cost reporting, and contract review meetings.
