Project and Building Surveyor - Closing date 23.02.2025 Salary from £40,533 to £45,117 pa, depending on skills and experience Plus Lease car or cash alternative of £3,050 pa Permanent – full time – 37 hours per week Location: Ashford Kent We are looking for an experienced individual who has credible experience in project management, implementation and delivery of a range of construction related projects of varying size, scale, and duration. To ensure that the council remains compliant with relevant legislation, good working principles and practices you will be abreast of changes and advances in legislation (including but not limited to the Building Act, Building Regulations, local and national planning guidance), technology, building techniques and materials. You will be responsible for conducting project appraisals and feasibility studies, commissioning studies into proposed schemes and evaluating proposals; along with: Managing and monitoring external consultants and contractors on work contracts Identifying and managing risk, change and variations Attending contract meetings, site inspections and signing off completed works Monitoring all project specific programmes and budgets. Values will vary from £1,000 for small individual projects up to multiple millions Leading on project related procurements as well as any dispute resolution, negotiation and contract administration queries that arise Coordinating the preparation and submission of planning and building control applications To be competent in this role you will have credible experience of producing and managing construction contracts and surveys, remedial repairs and project management along with having: Sound understanding of Building Pathology. Previous experience of Project Surveying, Quantity Surveying or similar. HNC/HND in Building Surveying (or equivalent) or proven equivalent experience. Project Management Qualification Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
