Project Controls Manager – Independent Power Producer We are looking for a Project Controls Manager to oversee the planning, monitoring, and delivery of a range of projects of complex electrical nature with a connection to the grid. The organisation Develop, Build, Own and Operate a wide range of Energy Infrastructure including Battery Energy Storage (BESS), Hydro Power, Thermal Power, Hydrogen Production & Storage. Working directly for the client, you’ll be able to wear multiple hats simultaneously; Investor, Owner, Operator and Principal Contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards while leading a team of project controls professionals. Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of advanced project controls techniques and methodologies. Oversee the integration of complex electrical works and grid connection elements into project plans. Provide expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) and ensure adherence to project controls best practices. Deliver accurate forecasting, trend analysis, and performance reporting to support decision-making. Lead and mentor a team of project controls professionals, driving development and excellence within the team. Leverage project controls software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and risk management tools to optimize project outcomes. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure transparency and alignment across all project phases. Identify and mitigate risks proactively while maintaining a strong focus on quality and compliance. The successful candidate will have: 3+ years experience in project controls, ideally within the renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, or power sectors. Proficient in project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and tools for risk and performance analysis. Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail and a focus on data integrity. Strong leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to team management. Relevant qualifications in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline are highly desirable.
