DRSS has two key delivery areas – supporting quality and transparency through its referral management service; and promoting best practice through referral pathway review. The Devon Referral Support Service is an integral part of the wider Delivery directorate and enacts the relevant strategic and operational asks of the directorate.
The post holder will provide support across a portfolio of projects to enhance operational service delivery. To provide and coordinate administrative and project support for the Project Delivery Team. As part of this role, there will be a requirement to work in a matrix and flexible way across multiple areas/teams to support business needs. The objectives of the role will be regularly reviewed to align to organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of a portfolio of projects within a team that facilitates patients’ timely access to appropriate care pathways. Support team using project management, LEAN, and service improvement methodologies. Assist with communication and engagement with stakeholders across the ICB footprint. Promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge, and technology to improve, inform and support a variety of projects, services, and initiatives. Supervise staff in day-to-day activities as directed. Work with clinicians and service managers to develop care pathways for use by GPs and operational staff. Organise and plan events as necessary and produce supporting information material. Manage the electronic diary for the team, including arranging and changing appointments, prioritising these as appropriate. Input, monitor, and check data required for finite and ongoing projects within the team. Act as a point of contact for teams, dealing and responding effectively with complex queries from stakeholders and passing on relevant information to appropriate team members sensitively and autonomously. Run and collate reports which may include reports to the Board and senior management as required. Develop and maintain effective electronic and paper filing systems, to ensure that information is kept securely and is accessible to other members of the team. Provide guidance and advice on relevant policies and procedures.

DRSS are currently based at Pomona House, Torquay, however, this base will change to Pynes Hill, Exeter within the next two-year period.
The wider NHS Devon ICB departments are based at Pynes Hill, Exeter.
The wider organisation continues to embrace the benefits of agile, hybrid working, however, this is an operational role that requires regular onsite working and full competency in role before hybrid working may be considered. Job share will be considered.
