My client, a leading specialist in earthing and lightning protection, is seeking a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring worker and public safety across a variety of power transmission and construction projects. Working closely with Senior Engineers, you'll contribute to the development of cutting-edge designs, undertake site testing, and support junior team members in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Develop earthing and (ideally) lightning protection designs for diverse projects. - Collaborate with experienced lead and senior engineers. - Stay informed about national, international, and client-specific standards. - Conduct EMF and AC interference studies for new and existing power transmission projects. - Perform Impressed Voltage studies to advise on safe construction practices near HV equipment. - Create detailed 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD. - Undertake site testing, including soil resistivity and earth impedance measurements. About You: Qualifications: - A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience: - Experience in HV electricity networks, particularly in earthing systems, is advantageous. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus. - Open to receiving training in this specialist area.
