to join our Scottish Power Energy Networks team. Who are we?

As a Technical Project Engineer, you will be part of our diverse team responsible for the successful delivery of various projects and maintenance of the SPEN telecoms network across Central and South Scotland. This role involves: Strategic planning and delivery of installation & commissioning projects. Working alongside the field, project, and network operation teams. Providing technical representation at customer meetings. Assisting with critical faults. Completing end of job documentation to an excellent standard. This is on a Monday-Friday 0800-1600 basis, but applicants will be required to be flexible, assisting with overtime when required. This role is based across Central and South Scotland, so you will need a full driving licence and may have to work away from home occasionally. Training is given to carry out your role and progression opportunities within our team are fully supported. Your role will be to support the Project and Senior Project Managers with scoping, preparing, planning, implementing, and delivering technical projects of varying scale, complexities, and technologies. This role fits within Magdalene's SPEN team and will work collaboratively with the Managed Services, Project Management, and Field Engineering teams. What we need from you

Project Engineer or Field based experience. SPEN Authorisations would be highly desirable. Relevant telecoms qualifications. Implement new network technologies, perform system upgrades, monitor system performance and capacity, perform system backups and disaster recovery operations. Experience in configuring, maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting network and systems. Install, configure, fault find, report and maintain routers, switches and firewalls. Must have core expertise in one or more of the following areas: IP Networking (CCNA, WAN, LAN, MPLS/ MPLS-TP) Cisco ASR / ISR Nokia SAR-H, Nokia NMF-P Excellent knowledge of routing/switching and data-networking. Unified Communications (desirable). Create and maintain technical documentation and ensure customer networks are documented as part of project handovers. A strong set of IT skills, including the Microsoft Office products, basic DOS commands, mobile phone work apps, and online time sheets. An interest in new equipment & technology and keenness to learn about it. Analytical skills and logical thinking to assist in fault diagnosis and resolution. Experience in the following would be highly beneficial: RAMS creation and work area/vehicle management. Completion of site surveys to enable installation. Rack, charger and telecoms equipment installation & commissioning to an excellent standard. Performing Industry standard testing as required on telecoms and antenna systems e.g. BERT (E1 & Ethernet), RF sweeps, PIM, TDR, OTDR & OSCAR tests. Wiring and connection of DC power to telecoms equipment to required standards and regulations. Data room, data centre and substation works. Routine maintenance inspections on spare fibres and battery chargers. General
