We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical / Project Engineer with a strong background in troubleshooting and maintaining flexographic, offset, and/or digital printing presses. This role is ideal for someone who combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of manufacturing workflows and is capable of overseeing complex projects involving large capital investment, including the dismounting and reinstallation of heavy printing machinery, across regions and production plants. The Role Project Management: Prepare, schedule, co-ordinate & monitor assigned technical and engineering projects to deliver strategic business goals related to manufacturing optimization and efficiency. Lead projects related to new machinery installation or upgrades to existing systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of machinery into production environments. Develop project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics. Work with vendors to source and commission new equipment. Facilitate building renovations, dilapidation projects, and expansions. Ensure all equipment meets industry standards and safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to minimize hazards in the workplace. Train operators and maintenance teams on equipment usage and best practices for upkeep. Equipment Design and Maintenance: Design and oversee the installation of mechanical systems and equipment for label printing processes. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Diagnose mechanical issues and implement solutions promptly. Process Improvement: Analyse production workflows and identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance and reduce costs. Evaluate and enhance workflow efficiency in manufacturing plants. Provide detailed technical reports and recommendations after equipment inspections and troubleshooting sessions. Recommend modifications to existing machinery to improve output quality and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing principles. Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed technical documentation, including specifications, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals. Prepare reports on equipment performance and recommend future improvements. The Person To succeed in this role you will have: Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Advanced certifications or training in printing technology, industrial maintenance, or machinery installation are a plus. Experience: 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the label printing or packaging industry. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical components. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Familiarity with label printing equipment (e.g., flexographic, digital, or offset printers) is a plus. Problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on process optimization. Strong communication and project management abilities. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience managing teams or contractors on-site. Adaptability to work under tight deadlines and in dynamic environments. Why Multi-Color? Additional Information Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of French, Italian, or Polish is highly desirable and will be an advantage.
