Our Operations & Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining and inspecting HV and LV assets under ongoing maintenance agreements, as well as working on installation jobs across various sites including wind (onshore and offshore), solar, AD, and battery storage. We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Operations and Maintenance team in Inverness. This position involves overseeing and managing all aspects of high voltage operations and maintenance projects, from planning to execution and completion, including undertaking HV switching at 11kV or 33kV and managing small remedial works. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent project management skills, and a keen understanding of high voltage systems. What You Will Do

Inspect and maintain LV/HV substation equipment. Carry out protection testing. Carry out HV/LV jointing, including specialist cable terminations. Troubleshoot/fault find. Install switchgear and transformers. Test earthing and associated equipment. Produce remedial works quotations. Compile work packages, job instructions, and RAMS. Coordinate the work of technicians, craftspeople, and subcontractors. Manage individual project resource allocation. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and other interested parties to ensure individual project objectives, deliverables, and expectations are managed/maintained. Ensure individual projects meet safety requirements/regulations and technical system performance requirements. Plan and execute HV switching, isolation, and earthing up to 33kV. Ensure safety from the system – issuing permits and safety documentation in accordance with company/customer safety rules and operational procedures. Test installations and systems, analyse test data, and compile test reports. Personal Qualities

Experience coordinating the work of technicians, craftspeople, and subcontractors. Ability to interpret technical diagrams and explain design ideas clearly. Analytical problem solver. Good organisational skills. Ideal Candidate Experience

SAP up to and including 33kV. HNC in Electrical Engineering, ideally in Power Distribution, or equivalent. Experience in private networks and/or the renewable energy sector. Familiarity with current Health & Safety legislation. GWO certifications for onshore wind farm work.
