An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer or Contracts Engineer to join a Tier 1 contractor working on Severn Trent Water projects. Based in Derby, with hybrid working options available, this role is ideal for professionals eager to advance their careers in water infrastructure delivery. We will consider candidates from Civil Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities Ensure project costs remain within tender/varied allowances. Submit all payment applications promptly and accurately. Complete contract reviews and monthly forecasts on time. Build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels. Assist in developing and implementing the Project Management strategy. Establish and manage contract filing systems. Contribute to the production and monitoring of contract programmes and progress reports. Provide data for the preparation of O&M manuals. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and site management on design and procurement matters. Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project standards. Support the completion of construction, commissioning, and handover documentation. Engage in professional development by participating in industry events, networks, and conferences. Evaluate and implement innovative solutions and processes. Contribute to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis. Ensure designs are safe to construct, commission, operate, and maintain. Complete the capitalisation process.

About You Essential Skills and Experience:

Solid engineering background. Knowledge of various contract conditions, especially NEC. Minimum HNC qualification in Engineering or a technical discipline. Experience in supply chain management and expedition. Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes. Understanding of CDM regulations and Health & Safety standards.

Desirable Skills:

Relevant professional qualifications are advantageous. Collaborative and solution-focused approach to teamwork.
