Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services. In this role you will provide leadership to the metros within your region aligning priorities with the EPC functions while supporting the team to overcome obstacles. While this role can be primarily remote, we are looking for leaders located near one of our regional hub locations. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND significant years related experience OR equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working on data center projects. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Responsibilities

Lead assigned EPC projects and remain accountable to the EPC leadership team. Lead EPC dedicated team towards project success. Maintain active engagement from CO+I Partners and Functional support teams. Regularly scans the environment to help anticipate changes that could affect key projects; leads change in plans, goals, actions, or priorities to respond to changing situations. Reinforces and promotes a positive team environment by modeling best practices. Delegates work within team to effectively deliver results. Ownership

In alignment with management priorities, holds self-accountable for EPC delivery of projects. Budget and Controls

Monitors the approved project budget, provides oversight, and suggests necessary adjustments for project controls. Change Management

Partners with the Internal Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) and other Microsoft key stakeholders to ensure new processes are being followed. Coordination

Attends and advises during scheduled owner/architect/contractor and other project meetings. Drives Results

Facilitates the delivery of metro-based/campus projects by making timely data-based decisions. Creates and applies best practices to identify and incorporate cost-effective solutions. Goal Alignment

Collaborates and contributes needed technical knowledge to internal teams and General Contractors/Subcontractors. Managing Resources

Oversees timely execution of all procurement activities associated with resourcing and materials necessary for delivering program(s) on time. Project Management

Drives campus-based delivery solutions and assists campus teams in establishing goals for project teams. Project Tracking

Assists with creating and reporting on project progress regarding scope, schedule, standards, and budget. Communicates risk mitigation goals and develops metrics to track, communicate, and drive progress. Safety and Regulation

Represents Microsoft as a safety leader and advocate on all Campus/Metro construction programs. Technical Acumen

Reviews engineering documentation/designs and identifies potential risks/gaps. Advises and monitors the performance of vendors and/or contractors.
