Project Manager (Small Projects - Commercial Construction)

will oversee the delivery of small-scale commercial construction projects, including office refurbishments, retail fit-outs, and other commercial developments. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, ensuring all projects are executed smoothly, with a focus on safety, quality, and cost control. You will manage the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and client liaison to project completion and handover. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery:

Manage all phases of small commercial construction projects, from initiation and design coordination through to project completion and handover, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budget constraints. Client and Stakeholder Management:

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders. Foster positive relationships and ensure that client expectations are met or exceeded. Site Management:

Oversee site operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and resolve issues. Budget and Cost Control:

Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditure, and identify potential cost savings. Ensure that all projects are delivered within budget and that any variations are effectively managed. Risk and Issue Management:

Proactively identify potential risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies. Resolve project-related challenges in a timely and effective manner to keep the project on track. Team Leadership:

Lead, motivate, and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams. Ensure that all team members are aligned and working towards common project goals. Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, plans, schedules, budgets, and change orders. Provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients. Quality Assurance:

Ensure that all projects meet high standards of quality and comply with local building codes and regulations. Conduct quality control checks at various stages of the project. Key Requirements Experience:

Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in project management within the commercial construction industry, with a strong track record of successfully delivering small to medium-sized construction projects. Qualifications:

Relevant project management qualifications (e.g., Prince2, APM, or equivalent) or a construction-related qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB) would be advantageous. Industry Knowledge:

Strong understanding of the commercial construction sector, including knowledge of contracts, construction methodologies, and health & safety standards. Project Management Skills:

Proven ability to manage and deliver projects within scope, time, and budget, with experience in scheduling, cost control, and resource allocation. Leadership:

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate diverse teams and manage subcontractors. Communication:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and build relationships with clients and stakeholders. Problem-Solving:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements and solve issues efficiently. IT Proficiency:

Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
