Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Project Manager with a background in Nuclear, Mechanical / Electrical / HVAC to be engaged on a permanent basis in the Bridgwater area. About the Opportunity

Our Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering critical works to major UK and European projects, supporting the development of nuclear technologies such as Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and progressing new power station initiatives. Working in both client-facing and internal roles, delivering major programme and project management capabilities across the full project lifecycle. The focus is on delivering safe, high-quality, and timely solutions through innovation and collaboration. The

Equipment Programme

is responsible for delivering the mechanical, electrical, and process equipment that will form the working power station. Contracts may range from discrete components to complete systems and are executed in partnership with a global supply chain. Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery : Drive contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and meet business and technical requirements. Progress Monitoring : Track milestones, deadlines, and budgets, providing reports to key stakeholders. Issue Resolution : Anticipate and manage issues, identify risks, and escalate concerns to the Senior Project Manager when necessary. Contract Administration : Handle variations, claims, technical queries, and instructions with the support of a Commercial Manager. Supply Chain Oversight : Ensure quality and schedule compliance across Tier 2 and Tier 3 international suppliers, maintaining nuclear safety. Change Management : Define scope, provide business justification, and oversee implementation of changes in line with governance. Scheduling : Develop and maintain Level 3 schedules consistent with the overall project schedule. Qualification for Nuclear Safety : Ensure that qualification activities validate the performance criteria of the equipment. Qualifications and Experience

Proven track record of delivering projects in technically complex and regulated environments, ideally within the nuclear energy sector. Strong management skills, including project management, financial management, change management, and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools. Experience managing contractors, consultants, and advisors on large and complex projects. Excellent presentation, influencing, and communication skills with the ability to maintain effective networks. Degree-qualified and Chartered in engineering, construction, physics, or a related field. Knowledge of or practitioner experience in project management methodologies, such as the APM Body of Knowledge or OGC's PRINCE2. Benefits
