The Role: This role is part of our Sensor Systems Business Unit. We are looking for a Project Manager to join our growing Sensor Systems team and play a crucial role in securing and delivering a number of major campaigns with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). This is a unique opportunity to be involved from the outset of the tender process, contributing to the development of our winning bid strategy as part of SAAB's robust Winning Business process. Upon successful contract award, you will transition seamlessly into the Project Manager role, leading the project team to deliver this critical capability to the UK Armed Forces. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong technical background and a proven track record in project management within the defence sector. You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, both domestically and internationally. You are a proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. Key Responsibilities: Tender Phase:

Contribute to the development of the technical and commercial aspects of the bid proposal. Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure a comprehensive and competitive offering. Support the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.

Project Delivery Phase:

Lead and manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, from contract award through to successful delivery, implementation, and handover. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resources effectively. Identify and mitigate risks and issues proactively. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the MoD, subcontractors, and internal teams. Ensure compliance with all relevant contractual and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Qualifications: Essential: Proven track record of successfully delivering complex defence projects. Extensive experience in the defence industry. Possess a strong understanding of GBAD & WLR systems and their integration into a battlespace environment. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications inc. Word and Excel. Full UK driving licence. Able to obtain UK Security Clearance up to SC. During your employment you will handle tasks and materials that are classed as military secrets and therefore you must have a UK or Swedish citizenship. Preferred: Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE 2). Bid writing / tender and commercial experience. Experience managing physical, virtual and disparate teams, with multiple stakeholders, to deliver innovative solutions, on budget and on time. Previous military experience.
