Main Purpose of Role Ability Projects, part of the Glen Dimplex Heating and Ventilation Division, are seeking an experienced Project Manager to work within their Service department. The main purpose of the role is to provide Ability’s external customers with site support and attendance in the event of equipment failure (warranty) or for service (chargeable), general maintenance, new installation, scope out, plan and manage potential refurbishment projects and liaise with Ability’s internal customers including the Service, Operations and Finance teams to ensure correct communication and efficient project execution. Key Accountabilities Understand the client and/or company’s requirements and/or specification such that our response meets their requirements. Preparation of equipment and technical documentation to carry out the job to a satisfactory level. Responsible for temporary staffing levels and the welfare of such staff. Ensuring the task given is carried out to the best of our ability and in a safe, controlled environment. The given tasks are performed on time and within budget. Ensuring that any specific requirements which cannot be met are identified to the Service Manager, documented and, if required, discussed with the customer. Providing on site customer support, on any issue face to face with the customer. Liaising with the Service Manager, Sales department, Contracts department and/or technical department on any issue to help them promote sales and customer relationships. Keeping the company on a contractually sound footing and maintaining a complete record of any project. Provide project intel on a regular basis to assist in departmental revenue forecasting. Escalate any potential risks/additional costs or late deliveries to the Head of Service in a timely manner. Skills, Knowledge and Experience ECS / CSCS Card NEBOSH / IOSHH SMSTS Similar duties conducted within an engineering or construction-based company. Mechanical / Electrical Certification / Competencies Ability to multitask, prioritising the focus based on key customer requirements maintaining a flexible approach. Technical qualification such as an OND/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/electrical engineering would be an advantage. Satisfactory DBS. Knowledge and experience of using SAP or similar ERP based system. Similar duties conducted within an engineering or construction-based company. Travel This position is office based within Poole with the need to travel to our Poole offices as required. There will be a need to travel within the UK, predominantly London as when required. Overseas travel to mainland Europe or Ireland may in a requirement of a very infrequent basis.
