The Role Lancaster City Council Compliance are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who will be responsible for project management/contract management for the Council’s maintenance projects. Based within the Asset and Compliance Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all design work, specifications, tender documentation and contractor selection process complies with the Council’s Financial Regulations and Procurement Policy. In addition, the successful candidate will act as Client Representative, overseeing all aspects of the project, including developing project brief/TORS and appointing consultants, as appropriate, to undertake project management responsibilities on behalf of the Council. To be successful in this role you will have proven experience of project/contract management as well as experience of reviewing processes – with the ability to identify issues and solutions. This will allow you to demonstrate that you have strong numerical, report writing and verbal communication skills as well as showing that you can work successfully in partnership with tenants, customers, colleagues, contractors and other experts to bring everyone together and achieve more. The successful candidate must be able to evidence the requirements laid out in the Job Description and you must be flexible in your approach to the overall workload of the team. This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. Hybrid working would be available, dependent on the needs of the service.
