An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and engaging professional seeking to develop their career within the housing space. I am currently working with a leading housing association based in Haddington who are seeking to appoint a Project Officer within their Assets team for a 6 months housing upgrade project. This role will see you engaging with tenants across the estate from a variety of different backgrounds. This ranges from vulnerable people to large families where you will be expected to engage with, negotiate, and empathise with throughout this project. Due to new legislation and regulatory updates coming into place by June 2025, the assets team aims to upgrade all existing electrical meters within homes to smart meters. Your role will be to manage this changeover with these tenants and arrange the upgrades before the legislation comes into effect. As part of the nature of this role, you will be the face of the housing association, proactively approaching tenants with the proposal and ensuring the smooth delivery of the project. This may come with some negotiation and resistance, so a calm and professional demeanour is essential. To be successful in this role, you must have strong IT skills and be able to engage with tenants, adapting your approach to each individual case. Candidates will ideally come from a housing or admin background. No specific qualifications are required, but a can-do attitude is a must. This role is offering a strong hourly rate and flexible working conditions. This is a 6-month project.
