£30,000 pro rata per annum (FTE) Job Description: Social Research Builders carries out summative and formative project evaluations for a range of charity clients in the areas of arts, heritage, community development, and health. We undertake all aspects of project evaluation on behalf of our clients from developing evaluation frameworks to report writing. We are seeking to appoint an experienced social researcher, preferably with experience in the third sector or heritage, to complete both quantitative and qualitative research, taking a lead on at least 3 projects across their lifespan. Key Duties: Create project relevant and bespoke research tools for clients. Carry out piloting of those tools. Systematically review and analyse data from a variety of sources. Review and refine project recommendations and lessons learnt as appropriate and communicate those with the clients when needed. Manage own research and administrative activities. Collaborate in the preparation of reports with the Lead Researcher/CEO and occasionally present findings to the clients at virtual and in-person meetings. Minimum Requirements: The ideal candidate will hold relevant qualifications gained through academia or professional experience. Proficiency in the use of relevant standard research platforms such as Survey Monkey, Google Forms, and excellent ability to use Excel for data analysis is required. The successful candidate must also demonstrate an understanding of third sector challenges and preferably have an understanding of major funders' evaluation requirements including the National Lottery Heritage and Community Funds. In addition, you should possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to write human-centric reports, present research proposals and results, and represent Social Research Builders at meetings. Experience of independently managing a discrete area of research at another charitable or for-profit organization or project would be desirable. This is a part-time role (16 hours per week), fixed-term post for 12 months initially, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. We will consider hybrid working.
