The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Project Risk Manager?
- Identify and assign appropriate Risk and Action Owners
- Manage the identification of risks (threats and opportunities)
- Evaluate Risk Exposure in terms of probability, cost, schedule, and performance impacts
- Advise on and develop appropriate risk treatment strategies
- Support the creation of time-bound treatment action plans, ensuring they are incorporated into project schedules
- Analyse residual risk using Monte Carlo analysis and manage progress of action plans
- Oversee contingency setting and compliant release of contingencies
- Prepare risk data for project reviews and corporate reporting
- Maintain accuracy of risk data within the risk register/system
- Deliver scenario analysis and risk reporting to stakeholders, including portfolio management and programme teams
- Facilitate Monthly Risk Reviews
- Respond to ad-hoc risk management requests from customers and programme teams
What are we looking for in our next Project Risk Manager?
- Proven experience in Project and Programme Risk Management
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage time effectively
- Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail
- High numerical proficiency with experience in cost & schedule estimation and financial modelling
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and challenge at the management level
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Confident in leading workshops and presenting technical details to large teams
- Proactive, dynamic, and motivational with strong stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Understanding of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery methodologies (desirable)
