A vast majority of the successful candidate's time is going to be spent working closely and supporting the Manchester A&D community; therefore, it is a preference (not essential) that the successful candidate is based in or close to Manchester but prepared to cover the whole of the North. Job Description Are you a driven design-focused specification sales professional with experience in promoting Commercial Interior products to Architects, Interior Designers, D&B companies, and End Users? If so, we are working closely with a world-renowned, market-leading manufacturer of BATHROOM & SANITARYWARE SOLUTIONS who are seeking to recruit an experienced PROJECT SPECIFICATION MANAGER to join their team with responsibility for promoting their products in the Northern UK region with a key focus on commercial projects. The Role To promote our client’s high-quality, market-leading range of design-driven Bathroom & Sanitaryware Solutions, mainly via Interior Designers, Architects, merchant partners, and end-user clients, with responsibility for managing the complete sales process. Reporting to the Project Sales Director, you will be responsible for the development of existing accounts and new business across the Commercial Sector (Office/Workplace, Hospitality & Leisure, etc.), calling on Architectural & Design firms, with a focus on the North-west / North of the UK. The aim of the role is to increase business within the Commercial Sector and the A&D community through face-to-face meetings, networking, and events. This work should result in developing relationships and generating a regular pattern of business on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis by securing specifications, agreements, and orders. The ideal candidate will need to have experience and knowledge of the interiors sector (not necessarily the Bathroom sector, however, it could be advantageous) with the ability and attitude to learn, research, cold call, and visit potential clients. As mentioned above, we do not expect you to have knowledge of the bathroom industry; however, you will need to be experienced in dealing with clients on their own projects face to face. Training will be provided on the products, procedures, and approach, along with how to deal with contractors and the requirements of the sector. Responsibilities Achieving a set personal and UK sales turnover target across all our client’s group products. Engaging with clients, designers, and specifiers in the commercial sectors, presenting our Client’s Group and solutions professionally. Developing relationships with key merchant partners within your geographical area and business sector. Visiting all project-related partners in the Office, Hospitality, and Leisure sectors (non-residential). Proactively targeting new opportunities directly and indirectly in these sectors. Creating new projects, specifications (including sampling and mock-up rooms), generating quotations. Tracking/reporting on all projects and contracts via the manufacturers CRM system and in regular updates with the Project Sales Director. Offering technical support and advice and being the first port of call for after-sales queries. Attending exhibitions, events, and networking opportunities – sometimes out of office hours – in line with the expectations of the business and in accordance with industry norms. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required Self-motivated individual who can work well on their own or in a team. Candidates must have a background in specification sales within the Bathroom or closely aligned Commercial Interior product sector. Ability to manage own area and time, with the ability to introduce tailored customer solutions to drive sales forward. Proven track record of profitable sales success and a proactive approach to Specification Solution Selling, coupled with experience of developing relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and end users in the Northern region (preferably Manchester). Enjoy selling PREMIUM DESIGN-LED PRODUCTS. Competent IT skills are required – MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. Excellent communication skills with a friendly approach to problem-solving. Ability to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail. Sound commercial acumen and an ability to communicate with colleagues and customers to assist the identification and closing of sales opportunities. A high degree of professionalism and an exceptional understanding of the specification design process with the ability to communicate at each of these levels where necessary.
