Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Project Supervisor - Mechanical/Legionella on a 3 months contract initially with a possibility of further extension.
Responsibilities:
Manage the Council's building and maintenance projects, providing technical specialist advice in Mechanical Building Services Engineering.
Ensure that all works are carried out efficiently, setting performance specifications and standards.
Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, particularly regarding water hygiene and legionella.
Provide technical specialist advice in Building Services Engineering (mechanical) and oversee compliance, servicing, and projects involving heating, hot water generation, and air conditioning services.
Oversee mechanical engineering services and construction project delivery, preparing reports, estimates, specifications, drawings, and works schedules for quotations or tendering.
Oversee a programme of lift inspections and ensure that all in-use lifts are examined by a competent person at specified intervals.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation for the safe operation of lifts, directing a programme of inspections, risk assessments, and effective maintenance.
Set design and quality specifications for the Council's building construction and maintenance projects, ensuring they are delivered to the required specifications, quality, and budget.
Monitor performance of mechanical design services and address contractor or consultant underperformance.
Check mechanical test certification and/or commissioning certification to ensure compliance with mechanical and British Standard regulations.
Make site visits to council properties to survey or check installations and manage the completion and handover of council building contracts.
