As a Property & Casualty Broker you will be responsible for providing exceptional input to team meetings, sharing valuable observations from the market,
and effectively resolving client issues, finding solutions within the London market. Please note this is a full-time, permanent opportunity. You will be based in our London office and ideally be onsite for 3 days per week on average. Overview: Build and maintain strong relationships with our insurer partners and branch network by identifying opportunities to maximise income, enhance our customer proposition and deliver new products. Placement of large and complex commercial risks across our insurer panel, ensuring the best terms for our customers and commercial terms for Howden. Work with colleagues to devise specific placement strategies for new and existing business - identifying appropriate markets and designing suitable insurance programmes. Provide day to day support for trading teams, acting as a referral point, recommending markets for individual cases, and enhancing colleagues' broking capabilities. Enforcement of placement strategy across insurer partners. Ensure effective reporting and analysis of partner performance and delivery of recommendations to improve. Onboard new partners - ensure Due Diligence is completed. Overseeing insurer audits and management of action plans. To control the group's leakage strategy within P&C and to help to onboard new acquisitions. Knowledge: Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the London insurance market. Strong commercial lines insurance knowledge gained in a broking or insurance company environment. Proven experience of commercial lines insurance broking or underwriting. In-depth understanding of commercial insurance products and principles. Experience in placement of complex risks. Sound knowledge of FCA regulations. Skills: Excellent insurer trading and negotiation skills. Strong analytical skills. Ability to manage relationships and negotiate placements with the insurance market. Highly commercially aware, ability to develop, understand and evaluate financial business cases/plans and modelling (both internally and externally). Accuracy and attention to detail. Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). DIP CII (desirable for this role). What do we offer in return?
