Proposals Engineer This specialist machine builder wishes to appoint a technical proposals engineer to work in a busy customer-facing department. The role is office-based (Worcester) and entails the development and production of technical proposals and tender information for a wide range of specialist machine build projects focusing on their specialism, the development of test bed systems. Our ideal candidate will be a natural collaborator, able to work with both a range of in-house technical experts of varying engineering disciplines as well as having the ability to relate to technical buyers within the client portfolio. The company is happy to train the right person. Personal profile sought: Ability to plan and organise (self & others). Technically minded with a solution-driven work ethic. Commercially aware. Motivational to maximise department productivity. Excellent communication skills both verbal & written. Deliver to tight deadlines consistently. Ability to work on own initiative. HNC/ HND qualified preferred. Strong working knowledge of MS software. Core activities: Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, quotes, and responses to RFQs (Request for Quotations). Address customer enquiries and concerns related to product functionality, integration, and technical specifications. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their business needs and challenges. When necessary, visit customer sites to support sales and promotional activities. Gather feedback from customers regarding product performance and features and communicate this information to the product development team. Your background: Our ideal candidate will either come from a similar background or have worked in a customer-facing technical role, preferably within a machine building or test systems setting. Preference is given to someone already settled in the Worcester area. Experience in developing technical proposals or related expertise, a solid understanding of engineering best practices, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills combined with a team-oriented mindset are essential. Full training offered. The company is not able to offer sponsorship for this role.
