Protection and Control Project Engineer focuses on provide protection and control engineering support across multiple transmission projects, defining technical scope requirements during development stages and evaluating third-party.

What the role involves

• Provide protection and control engineering support across multiple transmission projects, defining technical scope requirements during development stages and evaluating third-party.
• Review and assess panel designs and protection schemes , ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Configure protection and control systems, including calculation and preparation of protection settings aligned to application and scheme requirements.
• Evaluate and adjudicate factory acceptance tests (FATs) carried out by third-party contractors for both new build and retrofit installations.
• Supporting multi-disciplinary teams in identifying, managing, and mitigating engineering risks , while identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery.
• Take ownership of engineering deliverables, ensuring outputs are completed on time and to programme.

Skills and requirements

• Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
• Demonstrable experience in.
• Experience in either or both.
• Strong analytical capability with the confidence to critically assess technical problems and evaluate multiple engineering solutions.

Confirmed role details

• Duration: 12 months (initial).
• Up to £850/day (Umbrella).
• Will support the development and delivery of an expanding portfolio of transmission projects aligned to Net Zero targets.
• This is a 12-month contract position with hybrid working , typically 3 days per week in the office (flexibility available).
