What the role involves
- Provide protection and control engineering support across multiple transmission projects, defining technical scope requirements during development stages and evaluating third-party.
- Review and assess panel designs and protection schemes , ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Configure protection and control systems, including calculation and preparation of protection settings aligned to application and scheme requirements.
- Evaluate and adjudicate factory acceptance tests (FATs) carried out by third-party contractors for both new build and retrofit installations.
- Supporting multi-disciplinary teams in identifying, managing, and mitigating engineering risks , while identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery.
- Take ownership of engineering deliverables, ensuring outputs are completed on time and to programme.
Skills and requirements
- Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
- Demonstrable experience in.
- Experience in either or both.
- Strong analytical capability with the confidence to critically assess technical problems and evaluate multiple engineering solutions.
Confirmed role details
- Duration: 12 months (initial).
- Up to £850/day (Umbrella).
- Will support the development and delivery of an expanding portfolio of transmission projects aligned to Net Zero targets.
- This is a 12-month contract position with hybrid working , typically 3 days per week in the office (flexibility available).
