About the role We are on the hunt for a Protection Technician. Reporting to the Distribution Manager, you will be responsible for providing testing and commissioning of substation assets with a strong focus on OH&S. You will have a positive attitude with a strong work ethic and a desire to work collectively as a team to complete works efficiently.

Key deliverables: • Fault finding, installation, testing, programming, maintenance, and repair of substation and electrical assets. • Managing substation, transformers, and switchgear maintenance, repairs, and installations. • Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment issues. • Carry out relevant quality checks and audits.

About you • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical certificate or licence. • Minimum 5+ years of industry experience in power assets. • Hold registration (full, provisional, or limited) from the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) as an Electrician or Electrical Engineer. • Practical industry-related experience is essential. • Experience with HV, substation, or power transmission is desirable. • Experience working on an electrical distribution network is highly desirable. • Demonstrated experience in underground cable testing. • Strong communication skills. • Strong technical knowledge of industry standards and codes.
