About us :
Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult hospices in the UK, providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, southwest London and Middlesex.
About the role:
We are looking for a psycho-spiritual care counsellor to provide high-quality pastoral, spiritual, religious and cultural care and counselling to patients, families/carers and bereaved people within the Hospice care area. This key role will play a significant part in enabling us to deliver our commitment to holistic, person-centered care.
About You:
You will have strong experience providing spiritual care in a healthcare setting. You will be a qualified counsellor, with experience of using these skills with people facing challenging health conditions. Your calm, professional approach will complement your excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to build culturally sensitive, empathic, non-judgemental relationships with those in your care. You will be self-motivated, able to work independently but also enjoy working collaboratively with your multi-professional colleagues.
A good, working knowledge of and interest in world faiths and belief systems, particularly regarding customs and practices around illness, death and dying, is essential for this role, as is IT competence and an ability to deliver teaching/training to professional colleagues.
