Job summary Are you a qualified, or soon to be qualified, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) looking for a service that is committed to your ongoing professional development? A service that puts staff wellbeing and patient care at the heart of everything they do? If so, the Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies service has a great opportunity for you! Main duties of the job You will offer initial assessments and NICE approved treatments for adults experiencing common mental health problems. Interventions will be delivered using Guided Self-help (Telephone, video and Face to Face), Computerised CBT and Psycho-educational Courses. You'll be provided with a clear and suitable work plan enabling you to demonstrate that you are meeting the standards expected for each intervention. There will be opportunities for you to participate in a range of innovative workstreams and projects, such as Digital interventions for Social Anxiety Disorder, Perinatal Disorders and Long-Term physical health Conditions. We offer robust and supportive supervision from skilled supervisors and managers, with the opportunity to learn to become a case management supervisor yourself. We are committed to providing ongoing, high quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and in addition to in-house training you will have an annual CPD budget for relevant external courses. The Trust hosts the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research and the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre. Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies is actively involved in research, and the service benefits from being a member of the Oxford Academic Health Science Network Anxiety and Depression Network led by Professor David Clark. The Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies service follows a hybrid working pattern, currently on average working 2 days in a Trust office or clinic and 3 days from home. Our two main bases are centrally located within Aylesbury and High Wycombe, and we use additional clinic space around the county. Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes is essential. Qualified PWPs are expected to comply with the national requirement effective from 10th June 2022, for PWP registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Registration must be maintained annually, at the practitioner's expense. Please ensure you complete the section within this application form asking for your PIN. Successful candidates who have not completed the approval process will be required to practice at a training grade (Band 4), and will be paid accordingly, until such time as the registration is confirmed. Qualifications Essential Postgraduate or Graduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment (IAPT pathway), relating to Adults with common mental health problems PWP Registration (or evidence of application submission) with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) Experience Essential Evidence of working with adults aged 18 years and over who have experienced a mental health problem Experience of working effectively in a team Experience of working in Primary Care Mental Health Services Skills Essential Ability to manage own caseload and time Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills Ability to be self-reflective, whilst working with service users, in own personal and professional development and in supervision
