As a Psychologist you will be: Participating in the assessment of referrals and providing initial assessment for service users referred to the service. Undertaking high-quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions. Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertaking assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods. Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice. Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care. Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and Company Policies and Procedures. To be successful in this role, you'll need: Have BPS recognised psychology degrees Be HCPC registered Have Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications Be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division Have an understanding of evidence-based psychological practice Have experience of applying psychological knowledge to a clinical setting Be experienced working with clients with cognitive deficits Have previous experience of conducting research and project working Where you will be working: Location : Everest Road, Atherton, Manchester, M46 9NT You will be working at The Spinney, a service which offers a range of care settings for male patients with personality disorder and/or mental illness. The purpose-built medium, low secure, and rehabilitation wards, as well as a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) are all set within an 11-acre site with extensive woodland and landscaped areas. You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team at The Spinney who have previously been recognised by the Association of Psychological Therapies (APT) for their ability to reinforce positive behaviour, prevention of challenging behaviour, and successful interventions in a secure care setting.
