Job Title: Psychologist Children & Young People Services Location: Multiple sites in Peterborough, Northampton, London, and Kent Salary: Up to GBP60,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychologist to join our Children & Young People Services, working across multiple locations including Peterborough, Northampton, London, and Kent. The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological support to children and young people in care or residential settings, collaborating with staff to ensure the best outcomes for those in our care. Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments and provide therapeutic interventions for children and young people in care or residential settings. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including carers, social workers, and educational staff, to develop and implement care and support plans. Provide consultation and training to staff on psychological issues, challenging behavior, and mental health concerns. Design and deliver group interventions and workshops for children, young people, and staff. Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, interventions, and progress. Participate in case reviews and contribute to the development of care strategies. Promote the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, ensuring they receive high-quality psychological support. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Must hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology (Clinical, Educational, or Child Psychology preferred). Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. Proven experience working with children and young people, particularly in care or residential settings. Ability to manage complex cases, providing support to both individuals and teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals. A full, valid UK driving licence, as travel between sites is required. Desirable Skills: Experience of providing psychological supervision and support to staff. Knowledge of current legislation and best practices in child protection and safeguarding. Experience in conducting therapeutic interventions for trauma, attachment difficulties, and behavioral challenges. Benefits: Competitive salary up to GBP60,000.
