We are looking for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the Oxfordshire Adult Community Eating Disorder (ACED) team based in Oxford. Over the past few years, the service has undergone significant transformation, including a skill mix review and successful recruitment, developing our internal pathways and collaborating with our system partners to enhance the Eating Disorder Pathways across primary and secondary care. We are passionate about continuing to build on these developments.

Main duties of the job: The main duties of the role will be assessment and formulation, and delivering high-quality NICE concordant psychological treatment (both on a 1:1 and in group format) to patients and their carers/families referred to the eating disorder service. The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Provide specialist assessments, including CBT assessments of clients referred to the team based on the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from various sources, including psychological self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members, and others involved in the client's care. Plan and implement formal CBT treatment and/or management of a client's mental health problems based on the client's issues, employing methods of proven efficacy. Implement appropriate CBT interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting and refining formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining provisional hypotheses. Be responsible and accountable for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by CBT-based standard care plans. All new starters have a thorough induction process, both local and Trust-wide, which aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
