About us The St Helens 0-19 service is a friendly supportive team offering staff the opportunity to work flexibly if needed. We have daily safety huddles to support staff at the beginning of each day and monthly team meetings. Supervision is available to all staff both planned and reactive. We work closely with our specialist Safeguarding nurses to ensure staff feel supported and have access to appropriate training and induction.
Job description The successful candidate will work as part of the 0-19 service, delivering public health offer across St Helens. The role also includes providing leadership to junior colleagues and new starters, organising/work planning and delegation, and chairing and attending meetings.
Person Specification Qualifications and Professional Training Essential RN (Adult or Child/RSCN) or RM.
Desirable Mentorship. Motivational Interviewing.
Experience and Knowledge Essential Working within the 0-19 Team and evidence of managing a school nursing caseload. Sound knowledge of safeguarding issues. Evidence of continuous professional development. Ability to use email, internet and word processing software.
Desirable Delivering public health sessions in schools.
Skills and Attributes Essential Good verbal and non-verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Ability to support students in placement. Ability to support and motivate staff. Effective interpersonal skills.
