We are looking for an Operational Service Lead to join our Public Health Nursing Team! As the Operational Service Lead you will be a key member of the Children’s Services directorate to drive and successfully deliver all Children’s service/corporate compliance, contractual outcomes and provide overall strategic management, business planning and development. Responsible for interrogating, monitoring and reporting all performance demands on all children’s services, for the planning and delivery of high quality, safe and cost effective provision of children’s services. You will be required to establish close working relationships with Children’s Clinical/Professional Leads and administration teams. Main duties of the job

Performance Monitoring:

Oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor service performance. Regularly evaluate and analyse data to identify trends, challenges, Data Quality, Validation and areas for improvement, taking corrective actions as necessary. Operational Leadership:

Oversee the day-to-day operational management of administration managers and services, ensuring efficient workflows & consistent service delivery across all BNSSG areas. Establish and ensure clear pathways & SOPs to maintain uniformity & high standards. Lead by example to inspire, guide, & motivate the team towards achieving operational excellence. Quality Assurance:

Ensure adherence to standards, policies, and regulations. Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to uphold high standards of care, patient safety, and satisfaction. Service Improvement:

Identify opportunities for service enhancement and implement innovative solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that improve outcomes, experience, and efficiency. Promoting Positive Culture and Civility:

Foster an environment that encourages respectful behaviour, constructive interactions, and a positive organisational culture. Stakeholder Engagement:

Maintain effective communication channels with clinical staff, administrative teams, and corporate partners. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to optimise processes and improve service delivery. Working for our organisation

Qualifications and Training Required

Experience of operational management including managing and developing services in a variety of locations. Recognised post graduate management / leadership qualification. Studying towards or holds a post graduate qualification such as Master’s degree in area of expertise or management. Willingness to undertake training required of the role as appropriate; such as Contract & Performance or Operational management. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management / Health and Social Care. Knowledge of local, national, strategic and operational policy developments and an awareness of their implications. Hold a UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle during working hours. Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required

Previous experience working in a Health and or Social Care Community setting and/or other relevant multi-disciplinary environment of a similar size and complexity. Experience of leading & managing operational / clinical and / or administrative staff. Demonstrates excellent problem solving and decision making skills and evidences ability to make informed decisions whilst considering wider organisational impacts. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to think creatively and analytically to manage competing priorities and busy workloads, ensuring both smooth operational running of the locality / services with the ability to develop them further. A good understanding of performance monitoring, corporate & financial data. Excellent IT skills – including comprehensive knowledge of relevant IT packages - with the ability to find, use and disseminate information using IT. Understanding of the clinical and corporate governance agendas and reporting mechanisms. Ability to manage and monitor budgets, identify efficiencies and implement them. Ability to plan and deliver change projects successfully on time and to budget. An understanding of the Children’s contracts, including targets and outcomes, with the ability to measure and monitor against them effectively. Understanding of wider strategic goals and aspirations and ability to work operationally to deliver them. Good communication skills of all types to enable effective and cross-partnership working to achieve excellent outcomes and service delivery, working with colleagues and building in standards. Ability to facilitate, monitor and report complex and sensitive information. Good understanding of contract and performance management systems. Able to interpret and explain a variety of routine and more complex performance and financial information to a variety of audiences. Able to manage, develop relationships and influence people using tact, persuasion and negotiation skills. Employer certification / accreditation badges
