Finance Manager Overview: The Purchase Ledger Specialist plays a critical role within the finance team, ensuring the efficient management of the company's accounts payable process. Working in a fast-paced commercial environment, they maintain accurate records, process invoices, and liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to support the smooth financial operations of the business. Key Responsibilities: Invoice Processing:

Review, validate, and process a high volume of supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Code and post invoices to the correct general ledger accounts.

Supplier Reconciliation:

Reconcile supplier statements to ensure all transactions are recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly. Maintain up-to-date records of supplier accounts.

Payment Management:

Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring all deadlines are met. Monitor and manage outstanding invoices to avoid overdue balances.

Queries and Communication:

Respond to supplier and internal queries promptly and professionally. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and audit requirements. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes by providing accurate reports and reconciliations.

Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in a similar role within a commercial environment. Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial controls. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with stakeholders and suppliers. Preferred Qualifications: AAT qualification or working toward a professional accounting qualification.
