The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours/session posts will be pro-rated accordingly. Hourly rate of pay: £15.52 - £16.58 This is a 38 week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time only. Days and Hours of Work: Monday - Thursday, 08:10-15:25 Friday, 08:00-12:15 To start asap. The Pupil Support Worker (Inclusion and Nurture) is a vital role within our school aimed at improving the attendance, engagement and attainment of our pupils. The successful candidate will work within our Inclusion and Nurture department. 60% of pupils currently working within the department are in receipt of Free School Meals, 34% of pupils live within SIMD 1 - 3 and 65% of pupils reside within SIMD 1 - 4. Key Responsibilities: Support for Pupils Provide targeted support to pupils within the Inclusion and Nurture department, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Develop and implement individual support plans for pupils to address barriers to learning and participation. Monitor and track pupil attendance, engagement, and academic progress, and implement interventions where necessary. Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills, resilience, and self-confidence. Collaboration and Communication Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support pupil needs. Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure they are involved in their child's education and progress. Liaise with the school's Curriculum Leader of Inclusion and Nurture to ensure a coordinated approach to pupil support. Work closely with partner agencies such as parents/carers, Social Work and Police. Program Development Contribute to the development and implementation of nurture and inclusion programs within the school. Assist in organising and delivering workshops, group sessions, and extracurricular activities aimed at promoting inclusion and wellbeing. Data and Reporting Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support interventions. Job Details

As part of the Pupil Support Team, provide support to secondary aged pupils (including Pupil Support Base) with a range of social emotional and behavioural difficulties in accordance with agreed aims, objectives and standards. Relevant Qualifications: A minimum of SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4 English/Maths or Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience. PVG Membership: This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
