Purchasing Manager / Buyer - About the Role: Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager / Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the purchasing process, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. If you are proactive, a great negotiator, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you! Key Responsibilities: • Assist in the procurement of products and services, ensuring quality, price, and delivery targets are met. • Create and manage purchase orders (POs) and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods. • Research and identify potential new suppliers, negotiating pricing, contracts, and terms of delivery. • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information. • Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues such as delays, shortages, and defective products. • Work closely with internal departments (e.g., production, finance) to ensure purchasing needs are aligned with company requirements. • Produce & manage reports to allow effective monitoring of commercial activity within the business. What you'll need to succeed: The ideal candidate will have: • At least 2 years in a similar Purchasing or Buyer role (preferred). • Strong negotiation and communication skills. • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) a must. • Knowledge of Sage 50 an advantage. • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
