Salary: £33,000 to £36,000 Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours) | Corsham, Wiltshire

Job description Based at our facility in Corsham, Wiltshire and reporting to the company directors, the Purchasing Manager’s main responsibilities are as follows:

Works with directors to continuously develop and improve our purchasing model. Raise, review and process purchase orders. Helps to initially build and then effectively manage other members of the purchasing team. Maintain effective records of goods sourced and purchased using the company ERP. Able to negotiate prices with suppliers. Works with directors in the initial selection of prospective suppliers. In tandem with the QC manager, evaluates existing suppliers based on quality, timeliness and cost. Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers. Co-ordinating the associated inward bound logistics for purchased materials with both transport companies and other internal departments. Schedules deliveries with follow-ups to suppliers where required e.g. late deliveries. Researches and evaluates suppliers to compare pricing and services as an ongoing concern. Stays up to date with UK government import rules in relation to commodity codes and associated customs duty charges. Continued awareness of any changes to legislation which could impact the business.

Requirements and qualifications Degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration is preferred but not essential. 2 - 3 years' experience as a purchasing manager or administrator. Experience using ERP or similar frameworks. 1 - 2 years’ supervisory experience.
