ADEY, the market leader in the provision of residential water treatment products for closed loop heating and cooling systems in the UK, is looking for a Purchasing Team Leader to join the team.

The Purchasing Team Leader is responsible for the coordination of the purchasing team and relevant activities including the effective purchasing of goods whilst ensuring cost, quality and delivery time. The Purchasing Team Leader ensures smooth operations whilst promoting collaboration with internal departments and maintaining strong supplier relations.

The Role

Support the development and delivery of a world-class procurement function

Meet the expectations and requirements of internal customers

Deliver best value to meet agreed business objectives

Monitor and forecast inventory, determine purchasing needs, and identify costs

Implement key performance metrics and reports for key stakeholders’ review

Assist in commercial negotiations with suppliers, establishing suitable terms and conditions, taking into account technical and legal considerations, plus where applicable, commodity pricing to ensure business requirements are met or exceeded

Monitor and report suppliers’ performance and competitiveness through relevant KPIs

Expedite orders and maintain up-to-date delivery requirements

Identify cost-saving opportunities

Adopt a hands-on and positive approach to problem-solving

Oversee daily activities of the purchasing department, including delegating tasks and supervising teams

Support the ongoing personal development of the purchasing team

The Person

Experience

Commercial negotiation

International supply chain

Experience in the HVAC industry (desirable)

Knowledge & Qualifications

Understanding of manufacturing production and processes

Full understanding of supply chain procedures

CIPS qualification

Skills & Competencies

Ability to lead and motivate a team

Ability to prioritise multiple tasks

Attention to detail

Good verbal and written communication skills

Advanced knowledge of Excel

Personal Qualities

Hands-on approach

Positive approach to problem-solving

Ability to establish and develop relationships with internal and external customers
